Manuel (Mel) P. Rosas is President of RSS Safety, LLC, a full service
Safety Consulting and Safety Products Company (www.RSSsafety.com).
He is a Construction Site Safety Master (CSSM) and RSS Safety is an Accredited
National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Training
Sponsor.
He worked as the Safety Consultant and trainer for Carolinas AGC providing
On-Site Safety Audits and Bilingual Training for OSHA compliance to 3400
AGC members. He was the Safety Director for the City of Gastonia,
NC with 16 Departments (Fire, Police, and Utilities etc). He worked
for the North Carolina Department of Labor as a Compliance Officer (OSHA
Inspector) and as an OSHA Training and Education Specialist in the Education,
Training and Technical Assistance Bureau providing training to OSHA Compliance
Officers and the public.
He started his safety career (many years ago) as a Fireman and Crash
Rescue Specialist and is a retired helicopter Test Pilot. He was
instrumental in developing written maintenance and safety procedures
for aviation manuals for the US Army and most recently the worked on
the new NC DOL OSH Communications Tower Standard.
He has worked with numerous Boards and Councils such as NSC, PRIMA,
NCLM, NCFA, ARTBA and the North Carolina Community College Initiative
Program. He is a past ASSE Chapter Vice-president.
