|Technician Certificate Program Elective|
As the graying workforce and obesity become critical challenges in the coming decades, ergonomics is not just about injury and illness reduction. It is about reduced human error, increased quality and productivity…it is about maintaining that competitive advantage. Learn how world-class corporations are addressing ergonomics with proven methodology. This course begins by reviewing the fundamentals of ergonomics, mastering the elements of a successful ergonomics process, understanding the physical risk factors known to cause musculoskeletal disorders (MSD), and gaining exposure to basic ergonomics assessment techniques that provide participants with the necessary skills to identify and reduce these risk factors in the workplace. Finally the course guides participants beyond just becoming proficient ergonomics evaluators, forward to true solution developers since identifying the problem without implementing a solution is not a world-class model. An active learning approach will be used with participants having the opportunity to apply the tools and concepts covered in the course.
William T. "Tim" McGlothlin, CPE, Executive Director, The Ergonomics Center of North Carolina, Raleigh, NC
