Conference Presenters (partial
list)
The staff of Coble, Taylor & Jones Safety
Associates, LLC and their special guest speakers
will bring objective observations and practical
advice about safety and health issues facing employers. Each
conference presenter brings numerous years of experience
in the field of occupational safety and health.
Mr. Coble, Mr. Taylor and Mr. Jones each have 30
years of experience in safety and health with government,
private industry, working for OSHA, and as consultants
to a wide variety of employers in North America,
South America, Europe and Africa.
D. Todd Beach, CSP, is a senior
safety and health technical manager at Walt Disney
World in Orlando, Florida. He has 14 years
safety experience including two years with ELB
and Associates, ten years as assistant director
of environmental, health and safety at Universal
Orlando Resorts and two years in his current role
with Walt Disney World. He has a Bachelor of Science
in Management with a concentration in Industrial
Safety and Health from Clemson University. He is
a professional member of the Central Florida Chapter
of the ASSE and member of the ASSE Hospitality
Branch.
Raymond P. Boylston, CSP is semi-retired
after a 45-year safety career. He was with DuPont
for 22 years helping the DuPont Kinston plant set
a world safety record, was NC OSHA's first Director,
founder of Ennis Lumsden Boylston and Associates
in 1978, and was national president of the ASSE
in 1989-1990. He is also a Fellow in the ASSE,
and has received every major safety recognition.
Kathleen Buckheit, MPH, RN, COHN-S/CM/SM,
FAAOHN is the Director of Continuing
Education at the North Carolina Occupational
Safety and Health Education and Research Center
at the University of North Carolina at Chapel
Hill. She has over seventeen years experience
in occupational health, including industry, ergonomics
and occupational health nursing. She received
an MPH at the University of North Carolina at
Chapel Hill, BSN at Western Connecticut State
College and RN from Mt. Sinai Hospital School
of Nursing. Kathleen is passionate about
providing quality education to occupational and
environmental health and safety professionals.
David F. Coble, MS, CSP has a
total of 30 years of safety experience: 12 years
with NC OSHA and 17 years in consulting. He is
President of Coble, Taylor & Jones Safety Associates,
LLC. He is an authorized OSHA Outreach Instructor,
Chairman of the ASME/ANSI B15.1 Committee, a professional
member of the ASSE since 1976, a frequent author
and conference speaker, and has a Master's Degree
in Safety Management from the University of Arizona.
Mary Carol Lewis joined the executive management team at the NC Employment Security Commission on June 1, 2002. She currently serves as the Director of Support Services. She has over 28 years of experience in workplace safety and health programs. For approximately the first 20 years of her career, she worked in various capacities with the state of NC OSHA program. From April 1998 until January 2001, Ms. Lewis served as Chief of Staff and Associate Assistant Secretary of OSHA at the U.S. Department of Labor in Washington, DC. A native of Sanford, NC, Ms. Lewis earned her baccalaureate in 1977 from Meredith College. She has also participated in graduate studies at NC State University in the fields of environmental toxicology, atmospheric pollution, ergonomics, and public administration.
Jim Jones, ME, ARM, is Vice President
of Coble, Taylor & Jones Safety Associates,
LLC. He has 30 years of safety experience including
5 years with NC OSHA, 12 years as corporate safety
manager for a large retail and manufacturing chain,
and 12 years in consulting. Mr. Jones is an authorized
OSHA Outreach Instructor, professional member of
the ASSE, and member of the ANSI 01 Woodworking
Machinery committee.
Bill Taylor, CSP, is Vice
President of Coble, Taylor & Jones Safety
Associates, LLC. He has 29 years of safety experience
with a large tobacco processing company, Safety
Manager for the City of Durham for 10 years and
14 years in safety consulting. He is a professional
member and a past president of the NC Chapter of
the ASSE and the Mid-State Safety Council. He is
also an authorized OSHA Outreach Instructor.

Friday Center located at 100 Friday Center Drive,
Chapel Hill, NC 27599 approximately three miles
east of the UNC-Chapel Hill campus, just off Highway
54 East (Raleigh Road). The Center is a short distance
from Interstate 40 (from Raleigh, I-40 exit 273A;
