This course is designed to provide the novice or seasoned safety professional with an overview of compliance safety and health inspections and auditing processes. The session will emphasize performing safety inspections, analyzing inspection findings, setting up counter measures, and making necessary infrastructure changes to ensure the long-term resolution of identified deficiencies.

Objectives

  • Discuss how inspections and audits are necessary;
  • Review consensus codes and federal safety regulations;
  • Identify the parameters of performing inspections, including why, what, when, and how to perform an inspection;
  • Review and follow-up on inspection results, including categorizing results according to importance;
  • Review the importance of performing an accident investigation and addressing recommendations;
  • Identify strategies of gathering and maintaining management support and setting up recommendation tracking techniques.
