Ergonomics for Production Facilities

August 6-8, 2008
Marriott Norfolk Waterside
Norfolk, Virginia

Technician Certificate Program Elective

TECH EXAM FRIDAY, AUGUST 8 at 11:30 AM.
PLEASE MAKE TRAVEL PLANS ACCORDINGLY.

This course guides participants towards becoming proficient ergonomics evaluators and solution developers in their production facilities. Students begin by reviewing the fundamentals of ergonomics and by gaining exposure to basic ergonomics assessment techniques. As the attendees advance through the course, experience with established ergonomics evaluation tools and complex problems leads to sharpened assessment skills. The class's hands-on nature will be of special value to the practitioners who are on the day-to-day firing line in the production area. Emphasis will be placed on practical problem solving based on the understanding and application of ergonomic principles. Students are encouraged to bring examples (slides, tapes, etc.) of "ergo-problems" in their facility to the class for evaluation. A basic understanding of ergonomics principles is desirable.
