To educate highly qualified professional industrial hygienists and scientists with strength in the discipline of industrial hygiene, i.e., fundamental principles involved in anticipation, recognition, evaluation, and control of factors arising in the workplace that adversely impact human health and well-being.

Degrees

Degrees offered: MS, MSPH, MSEE, PhD

While offering four master's degree programs, the program is focused on doctoral-level training to prepare scientists for research and teaching careers in occupational health. The program also supports continuing education for occupational health professionals. Program completion is generally two-and-a-half years for master's degrees and four to five years for the PhD degree.

The program encompasses a full range of applications in industrial hygiene, including sample collection, analysis, statistical modeling, and interpretation of exposure data in order to investigate relationships between exposure and development of disease.
